国家地理Footprint足迹系列图书馆来了！
国家地理出过很多精品英语读物，如儿童科普杂志、科学分级读物；也有经典的英语听说读写教材，比如口语表达《Keynote》、听力《Notetaking》、阅读理解《Reading Explorer》、写作《Great Writing》……绝对都是些看了立马入坑的类型！
今天这套《Footprint Reading Library》足迹阅读馆比较特殊，它既是一套Nonfiction分级读物，也是一套对标各种标准考试：剑桥英语KET/PET/FCE、雅思、托福的阅读理解训练教辅。
从系列主题来看，我们都知道近些年中高考英语考试的阅读语篇中Nonfiction非虚构类文本的比重越来越大，而KET / PET等国际考试更是如此。这类文本不仅考察学生的英语阅读能力，也考察学生在科学、社会、人文等领域的知识储备、理解程度和批判性思维能力。
而Footprint系列的所有书目均为Nonfiction非虚构类作品，主题涵盖了生物学、环境科学、化学、物理、科技、地理、地质、气象学、自然科学、地球科学、机械工程、医药、健康、运动、文化、旅游、宗教、历史、考古、人类学、社会学、经济学、建筑学、绘画、音乐、舞蹈、艺术史、符号学等领域，丰富程度堪比百科全书。丰富广泛的主题，搭配生动细致的文本讲解，再加上NGL系列一贯的真实且惊艳的图片，带给孩子知识和视觉的盛筵，让孩子享受阅读的同时，拓展和积累各个领域的知识和词汇储备。读得多，懂得多，孩子也能够更轻松地去应对考试中可能出现的各种主题的非虚构类文本。
以欧标体系为例，全套共8个级别，对应CEFRA2、B1、B2和C1，每个级别又分初阶和高阶两个子级别，比如Level800对应A2，Level1000对应A2+。
这8个级别可以精准对比剑桥通用五级考试：KET/PET/FCE/CAE。
足迹图书馆跟其他国家地理的教辅一样，标准规范、体系完备、配套资源丰富，这是很多英语从业者都无法避坑的原因。
足迹阅读馆配有音频、视频、课前课后练习、课后测试、阅读指导、在线资源等丰富的材料。
从听力、视频、阅读三个角度，融入英语Nonfiction类听说读写的综合训练。
从阅读指导/教师用书的内容可以看出，语法学习也是本书的一个重点。
我们以A2级别《Arctic Whale Danger!》为例，来看看书籍的内容设置。
1、读前准备之单词学习：
采用图示的方法来学习单词简洁明了，尤其对初阶孩子更是实用高效！练习的学习方式也有助于记忆。
用图片作为正文的背景，是国家地理一向的作风，当然也是它的优势所在，还未切入正题，我们就被那些精美的图片所震撼。
2、正文阅读
第一篇介绍白鲸的特征和习性，订阅过NGL Little Kids的孩子应该很熟悉，在今年的期刊中有专门介绍过Beluga。
接下来用故事的方式，来描述一只幼年白鲸遇到的危险。幼年白鲸退潮后被搁浅在岸，因太阳暴晒体温不断上升，身体被岩石划伤，正处于生死一线…..
虽然是Nonfiction阅读素材，作者却采用连贯的故事来进行叙述，情节紧凑、引人入胜。
3、读中思考
在故事发展中间环节，设置了几个问题，让孩子预测之后的情节发展。
这本书除了白鲸，作者还讲述另一种北极鲸-独角鲸的故事。
独角鲸的故事叙述方法与白鲸相同，都采用了铺垫-叙事-结尾的模式。
图片和文字结合非常巧妙，图片有很强的辅助性阅读功能。
独角鲸的故事结束之后，有11个阅读理解选择题，对前面的阅读效果进行检验。
以上是本书的主体部分，在书籍的最后还附有一篇拓展阅读和单词表。北极鲸这本拓展是有关北极旅游的知识。
总体来看，足迹阅读馆具备了Nonfiction阅读备考+课外读物的双重功能。
